On Sunday, September 20, the Reims Museum of Fine Arts invites you to the Halles du Boulingrin for an outdoor exhibition set up on the Quai de Gros, as part of the arts and crafts market.

You’ll discover works from the museum’s collections, selected around the themes of gastronomy and the art of the table. This selection invites you to take a fresh look at the objects, techniques, and craftsmanship that connect artistic creation with decorative arts. Through this dialogue, the exhibition highlights a unique aspect of Reims: the close connection between two of the city’s iconic heritage traditions—gastronomy and art.

The Boulingrin Market Halls

Built in the 1920s, the Boulingrin Market Halls are one of Reims’ most iconic heritage sites. With their spectacular reinforced concrete vaulted ceiling and lively atmosphere, they host markets, events, and gatherings celebrating local craftsmanship throughout the year.

Led by the city of Reims, with support from the Grand Est region and the DRAC, the future Reims Museum of Fine Arts is preparing for its rebirth. Opened in 1913, this major landmark of Reims’ cultural heritage is reinventing itself to become more open to the city and bring its collections into the 21st century. When it reopens, scheduled for late June 2027, you’ll discover a transformed museum with three times as much exhibition space. This new layout will allow the works that have made the museum famous to take center stage once again: the portraits by Cranach the Younger, the paintings from the Grand Siècle, the masters of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, the Art Deco collection, and the Foujita collection.

Through this presentation, the museum invites you to get a glimpse of this future cultural venue—one that is more accessible, more vibrant, and firmly committed to sharing the arts with audiences of all kinds.
